Cathay Pacific Airways

First Officer:

1. An ICAO Airline Transport Pilot's License (ATPL)
2. A minimum of 1000 hours in one of the following categories:
3. Airline Jet Transport
4. Command Turbo Prop (MAUW greater than 20,000 Kgs)
5. High Performance Military Jet
6. Corporate Jet Command
7. A current Class One Medical
8. Fluent spoken & written English
9. Experience commensurate with age
   
   An applicant must possess the right to live and work in the chosen Base Area. The Company will not sponsor applications to immigration authorities for Flight Crew to live and work in any port other than Hong Kong.

Second Officer: 

1. An ICAO Airline Transport Pilot's License (ATPL) (obtained without exemptions) or ICAO Commercial Pilot's License (CPL) (obtained without exemptions) with passes in all ATPL ground examinations
2. A Valid Multi-Engine Instrument Rating
3. A minimum of 1000 hours fixed wing (preference will be given to applicants with turbine or multi-engine experience)
4. Experience commensurate with age
5. A current Class One Medical
6. Fluent spoken & written English

Hiring:

Not currently hiring. Expect a two interview process possibly across 3-6 months. If hired training may start up to a year later.

First interview is at personal expense at a location determined by Cathay Pacific. If invited to second interview, it will be at Cathay's expense and in Hong Kong.

First interview starts with a written test followed by a personal interview. Be proficient on large aircraft aerodynamics, long range flying environment, company history, personal history, and personal career desires. Be Prepared!

Second interview is similar to first, however expect a sim check. Be professional.

Compensation:

New Hires enter on new combined pay scale. Currencies vary per domicile.

Per diem paid in cash at layover location.

15.5% retirement contribution plan. (may be taken directly as taxable salary)

Hong Kong based pilots receive housing allowance options and Cathay covers 70-90% of international school fees for children.

Travel:

Member of One World Alliance

Main line travel for employee and family. ID90s, and limited jumpseat capability on other carriers. 

*Note: Expect 777-300ER, A330, and 747-400ERF growth over the next several years.
